Gender Conference NYC Family and Youth Day 2019

Everyone’s got a story, but knowing how to shape and tell that story effectively—and in under two minutes!—is a skill that separates the talkers from the real change-makers. This highly interactive session will encourage participants to pick a personal tale about trans and non-binary identities, equality, and inclusion and develop it into an engaging, must-hear narrative. We'll discuss ways to deploy effective messaging strategies to create common ground with policymakers, potential allies, and more. Using the story arc model, participants will learn to craft stories designed transform hearts and minds. Participants will also receive a special workbook to help develop their stories (and take home!) and have an opportunity to share their work with other attendees and get important feedback to improve their game.
