Do you wear sneakers? Do you paint your nails? Do you cook? knit? Engage in childcare? Are you a teacher or an athlete? We are all in a state of genderflux trying on different clothes, jobs and hobbies that suit us as people, regardless of our birth gender. It is getting harder to judge others when we are living the difference. What about you makes you a Male or a female? Your giggle? Your sweat? In this workshop we will use writing to explore how gender impacts on us and our families. The leader will offer prompts to jump start your ideas. We will explore how having a transgender member in our family has asked us look at ourselves and our children and the world. How is our family differerent and the same as the family next door or around the world? When did we know our kid was trans or different? Who did we tell? How does this make us feel and help us grow as people? All stories and writing is confidential and does not leave the room.
